Muwengo Bonny, 18
Kasagama, Lyantonde District
Bonny is one of eight children and is the first in his family to complete Senior 6. His dream is to obtain a scholarship and attend Makere University — a first in his family and extremely rare in Kasagama. At the close of exams in Senior 4, he was ranked 2nd in the entire district. At Makere, Bonny hopes to study Business and Business Administration so as to provide for his family and ensure education for future generations. He is passionate about History, and also enjoys Economics and Geography.
Jackie, 14
Lyantonde, Lyantonde District
Jackie is in Primary 6. An orphan, Jackie attends Parent’s Primary School in Lyantonde where she is a standout student, boasting excellent English. She enjoys music by Shakira and Shania Twain and often goes most days without breakfast or lunch.
Donozio and Beatrice
Lyantonde, Lyantonde District
Donozio and Beatrice are both HIV positive. In the midst of the myriad struggles they have both endured, they have remained married and very much in love. Despite their diagnosis, with the help of ARVs they continue to live normal lives, maintaining their farm and supporting their children, and are ever optimistic about their future together.
